It is an interesting story, and no doubt still true, but we are in denial. We are a great country largely because of has been accomplished by our ancestors, a better question for us today would be, are we going up, or going down ?

This may have been interesting 10-15 years ago ? but who cares, Bill Gates and Microsoft has done more to stifle innovation and creativity in the computer industry than Stalin did to stifle democracy, Steve Jobs spent years in the computer industry, was given windfall amounts of capital, then finally after about 30 years came up with "ipod" his biggest claim to fame was stealing, excuse me, borrowing the GUI interface from the engineering savvy, marketing challenged XEROX, and putting it in Apple, which his partner...what was his name ? actually designed.
