A total of $23.7 million in economic development funds were given to Montgomery County to finance its unemployment, poverty and foreclosed home programs. Other separate grants in millions were also provided to the county for other projects.

The pace of entry of properties into foreclosed homes auctions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area slowed down in August. Foreclosure filings in the area dropped to 4,796 units in August, a drop of 21 percent compared to July postings.
