Want to know your local TV listing/guide or when your favorite shows will be playing without having to scroll through your TV’s clunky menu system? Well, Couchville.com will help you stay on your couch because it allows you to enter your zip code, pick your television source (Antenna, Cable, or Satellite) and then your provider (Cox, etc) after which you will get a Tivo like table of all the channels with the ability to search for your favorite program easily. I just read about a very cool FireFox extension off of Digital Inspiration called Fire Uploader that lets you upload or download files from some very popular sites such as Flickr, Picasa, Box.net, FaceBook and YouTube. The extension works just like an FTP program where you can see the local and remote folders, upload as many files as you want without restrictions, and best of all you can upload to many different sites all in one interface. I just played around with one of the best FireFox add-ons that’s I’ve seen in a while called AllPeers.net that allows you to to share files, photos, and web pages with your own private network directly in your browser securely. It’s a combination of instant messaging, bit torrent, and email all in one! Once you install the plugin, you create an account with your email address and have the option of listing other email addresses of friends and family that you would want to start sharing file Join discussion...

I’m not sure how many bloggers submit their sites to blog directories (like I do), but if you do, then you must have figured out by now that there are a whole lot of directories out there to choose from to list your site on! While searching for some directory ratings, I came across http://blog-dir.blogspot.com/ in the Google search results. Join discussion...

BugMeNot.com is a hardcore web site whose sole purpose is to avoid having to register at any site on the Internet! Lately with more information on the Internet, I have found myself browsing many sites that require registration to simply view the page! Usually, a web site will follow this method in order to get some of your personal information for either their own tracking purposes or to spam you! I like how the creators of the BugMeNot web site put it “It’s annoying as hell”. Join discussion...

Google introduced a new feature today for Picasa called “Map Your Photos” which lets you show everyone where you took your pictures on a map. It’s a feature that’s been around in Flickr for ages, so it’s about time Picasa users don’t feel like lonely ducklings. The new feature is quite easy to use and adds a little bit of jazz to the site. Once you login into Picasa Web Albums, click on any album and click on the new button at the top called Map Photos. Join discussion...

Ok, so if you’re in IT and you work for a small company, you need to fight your way into getting any kind of decent compensation. Small companies are cheap when it comes to paying out to their IT people, which is completely not cool especially if you’re the only man running the place!! But being at a small company has it’s perks: Join discussion...

I kinda went on a rant in my last post about preparing yourself before you go talk to your boss about a raise, so this one will be about what to actually say. Again, before you can do this, you really have to believe you’ve done something useful and that you are worth the higher amount you are asking for. So once you believe you are worth that much, then you can think about talking… Join discussion...
