How to configure the Power Options for your laptop

If you’ve recently purchased a laptop or your current laptop’s power features are not configured correctly and you want to learn how to setup StandyBy mode or converse power, then I’ll explain all of that in this post. Basically, Windows has a set of Power Schemes (Max Battery, Always On, etc) pre-defined in the operating system. However, the defaults set in Windows are rarely what I would call optimal settings, especially for Power Options.

Ahhh I found an interesting little game off of Google BlogoScoped that’s similar to AmIHotOrnot, but is a lot more fun for some reason! I guess looking at freaky or sexy random people just lost it’s charm after a point! You can only do that for so long!

Google Maps in 3D

If you live in a big city, you may have not yet realized that Google Maps now displays buildings in a wire frame 3D when you zoom in closely. But you won’t see the 3D building unless you zoom in almost to street level. For example, here’s the World Financial Center buildings in New York:

The Google Code project has just delivered a nifty little utility for those World of WarCraft lovers out there. It’s called MapWow and it takes the Google Maps API and uses it so that you can explore the terrain of the World of WarCraft “world” using the same tools as Google Maps!

Windows Vista Features - Windows Mobility Center

I just read a post off iStartedSomething which enlightened me to the fact that Vista has some pretty cool little upgrades that’s going to make it a lot more fun to work with. For instance, take Windows Mobility Center. It’s job is nothing more than combining a few of the most used settings for a mobile laptop and making it very easy to change those settings.

I’ve been searching the Internet using Google for years now and yet I have never bothered to set my Search Preferences until TODAY! Quite late considering some of the options are actually quite useful! This post is inspired by the fac that I was trying to perform a search within a set of search results and could not figure out how to do it in Google for about 10 minutes!
