France providing naval escorts off Somalia - SomaliNet News
http://somalinet.com/news/world/Somalia/13020
It looks like the French navy is helping with the Somali pirate situation. It seemed like the pirates were able to act with impunity since Somalia has no navy. Finally something has been worked out. Good.

Osama bin Laden and the 'blowback' yet to come - Jonah Goldberg
http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?headline=Jonah+Goldb...
A little history, a little analysis, a little pondering of the future: If the bin Laden of the late 1980s could convince himself that his motley crew delivered the death blow to the Evil Empire, leading to the formation of al-Qaida, one can only imagine what lesson he and the bin Ladens of tomorrow would take from America's defeat in Iraq. That's a story line we should all hope won't be written.
