The University of Wisconsin recently launched the first of its competency based degree programs. The programs, which are being offered under the university’s UW Flexible Option, will begin enrolling students in Fall 2013 and are designed to appeal to nontraditional students.The university is offering four degree programs—two nursing degrees, a bachelor’s degree completion program in diagnostic imaging, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Science and Technology—and a certificate in professional and technical communication.
