Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about cloud computing. The CherryPal Linux-based machine got on both Slashdot and Digg when it announced it was shipping a machine with “Firefox as the OS”. The BBC ran an article that claimed that Microsoft was ending the Windows era with a new operating system, Midori, which would store almost all your information in the cloud, getting rid of you being tied to one machine. And the Red Hat CEO thinks that cloud computing is the way of the future. Unfortunately, they’re all wrong. For now, the computer is staying right where it is.

I suppose it’s fitting that my first review here at dawningvalley.com is
about Glide OS, since the first article I wrote in my life was about the same product. Back then, it was just called Glide Digital, required a credit card, and was not really an online operating system but a site that hosted your files with a few online applications. Two years later, Glide has evolved into a WebOS in the style of YouOS and eyeOS. But is it ready for general use?

Can you imagine the peer pressure and role models around her? Britney Spears is shaving her head and going into rehab. Lindsey Lohan is coked up and wasted all the time, also in rehab. MTV is full of wanna-be gangstas calling girls her age hoes and bitches. And here she is, entrepreneurial and running killer linkbait contests on her blog at http://www.beasavvywriter.blogspot.com
Has she figured the game out? Not all of it. No one expects her to at that age. Her title tag is messed up, so Google isn t indexing her properly. Her blog graphics aren t perfect, and the link buttons are a work in progress. But it screams out quot;originality and imagination quot; the minute you read her work. She loves to write and it shows. She s consistent and has a real voice, two of the cardinal rules of blogging. She is prolific. Everyday I have coaching clients in my mentoring program whining that they can t write. Ashley puts them to shame.
