Virtual Users And Domains With Postfix, Courier, MySQL And SquirrelMail (Ubuntu 9.04)
24 / 5
http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-users-domains-postfix-cour...
This document describes how to install a Postfix mail server that is based on virtual users and domains, i.e. users and domains that are in a MySQL database. I'll also demonstrate the installation and configuration of Courier (Courier-POP3, Courier-IMAP), so that Courier can authenticate against the same MySQL database Postfix uses. In addition to that, this tutorial covers the installation of Amavisd, SpamAssassin and ClamAV so that emails will be scanned for spam and viruses. I will also show how to install SquirrelMail as a webmail interface so that users can read and send emails and change their passwords. Join discussion...

http://www.howtoforge.com/enabling-compiz-fusion-on-an-ubunt...
This tutorial shows how you can enable Compiz Fusion on an Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) desktop (the system must have a 3D-capable graphics card - I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 here). With Compiz Fusion you can use beautiful 3D effects like wobbly windows or a desktop cube on your desktop. Join discussion...

Virtualization With KVM On Ubuntu 9.04
30 / 1
http://www.howtoforge.com/virtualization-with-kvm-on-ubuntu-...
This guide explains how you can install and use KVM for creating and running virtual machines on an Ubuntu 9.04 server. I will show how to create image-based virtual machines and also virtual machines that use a logical volume (LVM). KVM is short for Kernel-based Virtual Machine and makes use of hardware virtualization, i.e., you need a CPU that supports hardware virtualization, e.g. Intel VT or AMD-V. Join discussion...

The Perfect Desktop - Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope)
25 / 5
http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfect-desktop-ubuntu-9.04
This tutorial shows how you can set up an Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) desktop that is a full-fledged replacement for a Windows desktop, i.e. that has all the software that people need to do the things they do on their Windows desktops. The advantages are clear: you get a secure system without DRM restrictions that works even on old hardware, and the best thing is: all software comes free of charge. Join discussion...

Managing Multiple KVM Hosts With Enomalism2 [Ubuntu 8.10]
26 / 3
http://www.howtoforge.com/managing-multiple-kvm-hosts-with-e...
In my previous guide about how to set up Enomalism2 on Ubuntu 8.10 I concentrated on just one KVM host. This tutorial is an extension to that article in that it shows how to add further Ubuntu 8.10 KVM hosts to the setup that can then be managed from one single control panel. Join discussion...

http://www.howtoforge.com/virtualbox-2-how-to-pass-through-u...
This short guide shows how you can pass through USB devices (such as a USB flash drive) to VirtualBox guests on an Ubuntu 8.10 VirtualBox 2 host. USB support is available only in the VirtualBox PUEL (closed-source) edition, not in the OSE edition, so make sure you have the PUEL edition installed. Join discussion...
