All things considered this percentage isn't that bad, especially when you look at the fact that 47% of our primary vehicles get better than 26 miles per gallon. Granted 26 mpg really isn ’t anything to write home about, but it’s certainly an improvement over where we were in the late 1990s and early 2000s when gas guzzling SUVs were all the rage

Americans guzzled 9.472 million barrels of gasoline per day last week, setting a new record for April, despite our conostant complaining over gas prices. Looks like we're running our cars just as much as our mouths.

According to a recent poll, 74% of people stated that if gas prices were to hit $4 per gallon this summer that they would be forced to alter their vacation plans. This scenario would be catastrophic to the many vacation hot spots that rely on the revenue generated from June through August to sustain them for the remainder of the year.
