These are not the actual search engine rankings that you see when you search at a search engine, which are constantly changing. Think of this more as the “market share” for the search engine industry.

In August 2008, searchers in the USA conucted 11.7 billion core searches, virtually unchanged from July 2008. Googles web sites extended their lead in the core search market share by 1.1 percentage points.

The throne of the world’s first social networking sites changed hands - According to the latest data released by the market researcher comScore, the amount of Facebook users were 132 million, more than Myspace users of 118 million owned by News Corp, becoming the world’s largest social networking sites.
