It looks like the French navy is helping with the Somali pirate situation. It seemed like the pirates were able to act with impunity since Somalia has no navy. Finally something has been worked out. Good.

A little push-back in Mogadishu. The insurgents really don't want to go along with a stabilized Somalia if it's not their Sharia law stabilization. Now they've caused enough trouble to get some attentions. I hope someone has been reading the Petraeus field manual on dealing with insurgencies.

Not too much info here but this has the feel of a good thing, something very rare for Somalia over the last decade or so. The tribal leadership is the key to anything happening in a clan-oriented culture.
