If we take a look at the periodic table of elements, Rubidium is a chemical element with the symbol Rb and atomic weight of 37. Its name was derived from the word "rubidus" which means deepest red. Although it is described as a soft, silvery-white metal, it gives a reddish-violet color to a flame, hence its name.
