I hadn't commented on the original, but one thing that I think plays a major factor is that the comment link (and count) hides very well among the rest of the stuff after the submitter's summary. Honestly, I have to consciously make an effort to check if an interesting article has any comments (usually doesn't) , because most of the time, I'm skimming over stuff, clicking links, etc.
Maybe if the comments link was just a bit bigger and maybe relocated after the interesting/not for me voting or something similar. Er, the font not the link, that is. #2 - By shinynew, 62 months, 1 week, 5 days, 5 hours ago.
That is a pretty good idea, one of two comments could even be dynamically loaded if you have clicked the link, and/or voted up or down.

OOOOOoooooohhhhh. Completely agree on this! Vote up and it shows a comment or two below the summary, vote it down and comments (and possibly other stuff) goes away, since I'm not interested in the story anyway, what do I care how many comments it has, or how it is filed away in the system?

Yes I am rather irritated by the stories I vote down just sitting around...
When you vote down a story does that make it less likely for it to appear for your fans? #5 - By L1Wulf, 62 months, 1 week, 4 days, 6 hours ago.
You CAN see how friends/fans voted on a story, but you have to click on the more link (or comments, etc.). I'm sure you already knew this (the tabs are right up there ), so I'd guess you mean showing that info on the front page. That does make sense, since this is flavored a bit more social.
