Beta Vulgaris is a herbaceous biennial or rarely perennial plant with leafy stems from genus Beta of Chenopodiaceae family. It is known widely as beets, which belongs to the order Caryophyllales of class Magnoliopsida, under the division of Magnoliophyta from Kingdom Plantae. It is a root vegetable with edible roots and edible green tops. It is considered to have the highest natural sugar content of any vegetable but low in calories.
