While the south offers beautiful beaches, the north is rich in natural parks and monuments. Our volunteer placements are located in Greater Noida, outside of New Delhi. This city is a treasure trove of imperial Mughal monuments, bustling urban villages and British Raj-era avenues.
Although India has one of the world's fastest-growing economies; the country still suffers from very high levels of poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition and a large growing cases of HIV/Aids. The status of rural woman and children in India need attention. According to the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, almost 40 % of malnourished children under the age of five years across the world are from India. Many children are denied even their basic rights of food, clothing and shelter. At least eighteen million children live or work on the streets of urban India.
