My wife and I were coming back from ballroom dancing class yesterday and stopped in at our office to pick up the mail. There was a mysterious check for $485.00 that we didn't recognize. It was from a company called Linkmedia in British Columbia. As strange as it sounds, receiving unknown money in the mailbox is a fairly routine occurence. We have over 420 websites, and we monetize them in a variety of fashions. I did a quick scan when I got back to the house, and easily found out where the new money had come from. I had used a small CPA company called Adreporting in January on some new websites. The traffic from those new sites kicked into gear in April in a nice way. If you're not familiar with CPA, let me tell you they are fantastic! CPA stands for Cost Per Action. Companies buy advertising with CPA companies and pay every time a prospect takes a specific action. For example, perhaps someone fills in an email request form for a special report. They might pay $1.50 per optin. Some companies pay people to fill out surveys. Some companies pay people just to put their zip code into a contest. One company I know pays $6.00 for a prospect to fill out a 8 line form. The varieties and types of offers are enormous. What I like best is the prospect doesn't have to pull out a credit card and buy anything. You are rewarded financially simply for the prospect taking an action.
