27 months, 2 weeks, 1 day, 12 hours agoWith the end of the world epic 2012 set to open this coming Friday, IGN Movies is spotlighting other star-studded, epic disaster movies. We picked 10 films using the following criteria: 1) the films must have only cosmic or natural disasters (i.e. no invading aliens, plague outbreaks or man-made acts); 2) the disaster, impending or actual, has to be the entire thrust of the movie and not just a small portion of it (sorry, Titanic); and 3) the story has to actually follow the people in the disaster and not those directly out of harm's way (OK, that one's just to explain why Armageddon isn't on this list
