Google Debuts New Privacy Policies

63 months, 1 week, 4 days, 10 hours agoWhen we implement this policy change in the coming months, we will continue to keep server log data (so that we can improve Google's services and protect them from security and other abuses)—but will make this data much more anonymous, so that it can no longer be identified with individual users, after 18-24 months.

If they're proud to say they'll only retain data for up to 24 months, imagine how much they know about you right now :-) I'd make it 12 months unless required by law. Why 18-24 months? How can what I searched two years ago be helpful to improve "security and abuse" issues? Anyway, I shouldn't complain too much, it is at least a move in the right direction.

Agreed. I was expecting them to say something like, "after 30 to 60 days..."
