People get very good results with nicotine patches and they are responsible for helping many people to break the habit.

Yes, Nicotine patches have proved helpful to many....but they still contain Nicotine... plus patches are visible and can be embarrassing. A friend who used them to quit smoking (she started up again) got a horrible square tan on her arm while she was wearing them. She then tried a couple smoking cessation aids. The one that finally worked for her was Chantix... which does NOT contain Nicotine...which is awesome because after all, that's what you need to get away from...Basically Chantix blocks nicotine from affecting your brain's dopamine-release system, so you don't go through withdrawal symptoms that you typically face when quitting cold turkey. I think its a less embarrassing way to go about quitting. Personally, I have seen too many of my friends sick from smoking too much and I wish they would all quit. So any encouragement and any method that works...I am all for.
