I don't get it. How could an online backup company lose you data? I mean seriously. Isn't it their job to make sure that your backup is backed up?

Although somewhat costly, the online backup service should maintain at least two copies of your files. Even though RAID 5/6 storage computers ensure against a single (RAID 5) or double (RAID 6) drive failure, the whole RAID array can fail, especially if they have a faulty raid controller as apparently happened with the Promise Controller at Carbonite. For online storage and backup, I use http://www.MyOtherDrive.com . They have a very easy to use interface, have many file sharing options, and the best prices.
