Every year, it feels like the show gets longer and longer, and something always happens to derail the whole procedure. Occasionally, though, the confluence of performers and presenters makes for something genuinely surprising, whether it’s an unplanned breakdown in the show or a chance for an award-winner to get a lot looser than anyone had predicted. Those are the moments that everyone talks about the next day, and the ones that make the whole show worth it.
